What Is a ACFT Calculator?
The ACFT Calculator computes official scores for the US Army Combat Fitness Test. The ACFT consists of six physical events designed to assess muscular strength, muscular endurance, power, and aerobic capacity on a 0–600 point scale with age and gender brackets.
How to Use This Calculator
- Select your gender and age bracket.
- Enter 3-Rep Maximum Deadlift (MDL) weight in pounds.
- Enter Standing Power Throw (SPT) distance in meters.
- Enter Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP) repetitions.
- Enter times for Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Plank (PLK), and Two-Mile Run (2MR).
- Review individual event points (0–100 each), total composite score, and qualification status.
ACFT 6-Event Composite Scoring
\text{Composite Score} = \text{MDL} + \text{SPT} + \text{HRP} + \text{SDC} + \text{PLK} + \text{2MR}, \quad \text{Max} = 600Soldiers must score at least 60 points in all six events (minimum 360 total). Scores of 540+ (with 90+ in every event) earn the Physical Fitness Excellence Ribbon.
Worked Example
Scenario: A male soldier aged 17–21 completing all 6 events with standard scores
Deadlift: 250 lbs → 78 pts
Power Throw: 10.5 m → 84 pts
Hand-Release Push-ups: 35 reps → 80 pts
Sprint-Drag-Carry: 1:50 → 82 pts
Plank: 2:30 → 81 pts
2-Mile Run: 16:00 → 79 pts
Total: 78 + 84 + 80 + 82 + 81 + 79 = 484 points.
Tips & Key Notes
- Warm up thoroughly before the 3-Rep Max Deadlift to prevent lumbar injury.
- On the Sprint-Drag-Carry, maintain a low center of gravity while pulling the 90-lb sled.
- The Hand-Release Push-Up requires full arm extension out to a 90-degree angle on the floor between each repetition.
